Words of Peace

Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon.  A happiness weapon.  A beauty bomb.  And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one.  It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air.  Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas.  And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight.  Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in.  With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest.  And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.
 ~*~Robert Fulghum~*~

~*~Mahatma Gandhi~*~

~*~King Baudouin I, King of Belgium~*~

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
~*~Mother Theresa~*~

We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power.  Then will our world know the blessings of peace.
~*~William Ewart Gladstone~*~

Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding.

One cannot subdue a man by holding back his hands. Lasting peace comes not from force.
~*~David Borenstein~*~

Hay algo tan necesario como el pan de cada día, y es la paz de cada día, la paz sin la cual el mismo pan es amargo.
(
There is something as necessary as the daily bread, and that is the daily peace, without that peace the bread is bitter.)
~*~Amado Nervo~*~

First keep the peace within yourself, then you can also bring peace to others.
~*~Thomas Kempis~*~

If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner.
~*~Nelson Mandela~*~

Peace is a gift, it is a gift we give to ourselves, and then to each other.
~*~Richard Goode~*~

You can't shake hands with a clenched fist.
~*~Indira Gandhi
~*~

Misunderstanding arising from ignorance breeds fear, and fear remains the greatest enemy of peace.
~*~Lester B. Pearson~*~

Nothing is more useless in developing a nation's economy than a gun, and nothing blocks the road to social development more than the financial burden of war. War is the arch enemy of national progress and the modern scourge of civilized man.
~*~King Hussein of Jordan~*~
